Proof

There are competing theories about M. Clarke, one, is that he's a clown, the second is that he was a clown a long time ago. Daily, more proof is being offered to support the latter theory. Worse still he's within all reckoning a bogan clown.

Training routine....

(from 2002)Mayweather only trained Monday, Wednesday and Friday, but said its equivalent to six days a week.
4am workout-20mins skipping, 20mins pads, 10mins shadow boxing, 10mins heavybag, then abs, then neck harness
4pm workout-10 rounds of sparring (six-minute rounds, three different sparring partners each round), then running, then weight-training

Here´s how he trained for Gatti..
Mon-Wed-Fri
AM session: (Sparring) 6 rounds of 10 mins alternated each workout with 4 rounds of 15 mins (alternating spar partners during round)
PM session: 10 rounds of Padwork, 20 mins of Jump-rope and 10 mins of Bagwork. Then, Ab work (w/ medicine balls), Weights and Roadwork.

That baldy wins again..

Someone remarked to me recently that Kelly Slater was like the Tiger Woods of surfing. I would actually turn that around and say that Tiger Woods is the Kelly Slater of golf.

Better than the Don!

Tim Blair feels that we've found someone to replace Gilly at opening bat..

I personally think its another attempt by the Indians to hijack the holy game....

"Terian notes that in the Armenian Gospel of the Infancy, translated into Armenian in the 6th century from a much older lost Syriac original, a passage tells of Jesus playing what may well be the precursor of cricket, with a club and ball."

Cars

Can't stand cars.
Wallys waffling about cars guarantee my eyes glaze, numbness sets in, and dry retching ensues.
In fact, the only thing more mind numbingly boring than cars are the wallys that waffle endlessly on and on about them.

Why is it then, that the only television show I watch all week is Top Gear? Great show, great photography, well presented, great humour, ridiculous stunts?

Why?

Sharks

Every year early in the season I say this only to watch as they fall in a heap at the latter part of the season. Never won a premiership. The mighty Sharks have now knocked off both of last years finalists. Could this be..............

Fitness

A couple of years ago I was lucky enough to finally land a job where I could just go in, do it, and go home. No need to feel responsible for anything just go in, do it, bang bang bang, walk away and not even think about it.... and the pay was ok too! So, I decided with my newfound excess time and energy that I'd get back into surfing big time.. Trouble was, I forgot you have to be fit to surf, so my first surfing trip down south was mainly spent lying around getting over a half hour surf everday. In the preceding years I'd let my self go, badly, as work and other stuff had overtaken my life. So there I was 4o yrs old and over 15 stone and to be honest pretty miserable with life and myself...action was required.

I've always been fascinated with the martial arts, although I'm just a dabbler. I'd always wanted try boxing since I was a kid, but never had the time or the headspace, so I figured now was a great time to try. Best decision I've taken in years..... My MOJO is slowy coming back. Baby.. Whereas before I'd find it difficult to be motivated, I now jump out of bed in the morning and get to the Gym.. and really enjoy the challenging training, although, I don't spar very often. Don't find enough time to practice my surfing..

Combat sports require a mixture of Aerobic conditioning, Anearobic conditioning, Cordination, Explosive strength, speed strength, maximal strength, practice, patience, planning and intelligence. I used to loathe going to gyms simply to pump iron, what a waste of time and intellect. This is starting to sound like an infomercial, but anyway, why did I not find the time years ago?.. Down to around 12/2 stone now or 80Kg goal is to get to around 75-78. Doctor just told me I had the muscular strength and fitness of a 30 year old. I'll get that down to 25 yr old this year.

The conditioning guru and a big inspiration, Ross Enamait:

one arm pull ups? no problem... I've made a little pact with myself to achieve this in the next two years.

Iron Mike Tyson

Iron Mike Tyson was a highly skilled and powerful boxer during the 80's. Some of these slips, counters and combinations are breathtaking. He was much more than the slugger that I thought he was when I was a kid.
