More Newtown

Whilst talking about Newtown, I stumbled across the "Mayor of Newtowns" blog. Great run down of the pubs in the Newtown area. I voted for the Townie as my favourite, closely followed by the Coopers. Many a late night I had a hankering for a refreshing beverage and a game of cricket on the big screen. The Townie saved me. Mind you these were the days when it was worth watching cricket into the wee hours, the days of Warne and Mcgrath.....sigh. But I digress again. Like the Piermont Hotel you could just sit and watch the world go by in front of you, every freak would at some stage of the night wander into or past this establishment.

James Squires, Golden Ale. Perfect for stinking hot Queensland days. I usually despise people who bang on about berry flavours etc, but you can actually smell and taste fruit in this beer.
