Always loved the work of Austen Tayshus. He's slightly aggressive with a deadpan delivery, topical thoughts topped off by an ultra dry sense of humour. Nothing better that attending an AT gig when he starts to take the piss out of your typical Australian, football playing boofhead, and there we all are standing there with hands around a VB laughing along. The irony is delicious.

Its always the dryness in humour that I've found fascinating. Dryness usually uses a deadpan delivery style using irony as its underlying structure. It was always the deadpan of "Monty Pythons" delivery not their silliness that was their brand of genius. Irony is about conveying a meaning through rhetoric, literary or theatrical device which implies the opposite of what conveyed, a paradox even. Whereas sarcasm, uses ridicule through rhetoric with tonal inflections to punctuate meaning. My observation is, whilst dryness is great used in a theatrical context, used in every day life it often leads to misunderstanding unless conveyed to someone with similar humour.
